Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local and national regulations.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure workplace safety.
3. Train employees on proper safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and accidents.
4. Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.
6. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
7. Coordinate with external agencies and organizations on safety and environmental compliance matters.
8. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to health, safety, and environmental performance.
9. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to handle potential crises.
10. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential hazards.
11. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required by law.
12. Manage and oversee the implementation of waste management and recycling programs.
13. Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
14. Serve as a subject matter expert on health, safety, and environmental matters for the organization.
15. Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals to achieve department goals and objectives.
