Core Competencies
Overseas offline terminal UX interaction design | End-to-end self-checkout workflow design | User research & pain point analysis | Flowchart, information architecture, low/high-fidelity prototype delivery | Interaction specification & design asset management | Multilingual interaction adaptation | Overseas localization & accessible design | Hardware terminal interaction adaptation | Figma / Axure / Sketch | Bilingual (Chinese & English) workplace communication | Cross-team review & implementation follow-up
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-link UX interaction design for Singapore retail self-checkout systems, covering core business scenarios including boot-up guidance, product scanning, weighing & checkout, discount redemption, payment verification, receipt printing, error prompts, refund & after-sales, and language switching. Independently produce business flowcharts, information architecture, low/high-fidelity prototypes and interaction specification documents.
- Conduct overseas user research, investigate design standards of the European and American retail industry and characteristics of offline consumption scenarios. Optimize interaction workflows based on overseas users’ operation logic, aesthetic preferences and scenario pain points, to resolve experience issues such as cumbersome operations, user misoperations and insufficient overseas localization adaptation.
- Participate in on-site requirement coordination, solution reviews and implementation debugging. Work closely with product, R&D, testing and overseas business teams to align design thinking, answer implementation questions, and ensure design solutions are feasible, reusable and fit the real usage scenarios of overseas terminals.
- Benchmark UX design cases of mainstream self-checkout devices in European and American supermarkets and convenience stores. Complete accessibility and multilingual interaction adaptation in line with European and American localization requirements, continuously iterate and optimize product experience, and improve overseas users’ self-checkout efficiency and satisfaction.
- Compile and deliver standardized interaction design specifications and component usage rules, accumulate UX design assets for overseas retail self-service terminals to support subsequent product iterations.
Job Requirements
Mandatory Core Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on UX interaction design experience. Prior practical experience in overseas retail, offline self-service terminals, POS checkout or unmanned retail projects is preferred. Familiar with overseas B2C user interaction logic and localized design principles.
- Proficient in mainstream design tools including Figma, Axure and Sketch; able to independently produce flowcharts, prototypes and interaction specification documents. Skilled in touch terminal interaction and multi-resolution adaptation design.
- Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English for daily workplace communication. Able to join short-term on-site assignments and project reviews. Clear logical thinking, capable of quickly understanding business requirements and translating them into implementable design solutions.
- Familiar with UX characteristics of the European and American retail industry, overseas user operation habits, aesthetic systems and key points of multilingual interaction adaptation to avoid localization design bias.
- A personal UX portfolio must be attached with your application. Candidates with design cases of self-service equipment, retail terminals or overseas products will be prioritized.
Competency & Quality Requirements
- Possess comprehensive UX design thinking, proficient in user research, requirement decomposition, workflow optimization, usability testing and other methodologies. Able to accurately identify pain points of overseas terminal users and deliver targeted optimization solutions.
- Familiar with interaction logic of retail terminal hardware, including adaptation rules for touchscreens, scanners and weighing devices. Have basic front-end implementation awareness to collaborate efficiently with R&D teams and reduce gaps between design and development.
- Capable of independently driving projects, strong sense of responsibility, able to adapt to agile iteration rhythm, and efficiently complete design deliverables, revisions, optimizations and acceptance coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- End-to-end UX design experience for self-checkout systems in overseas supermarkets and convenience stores.
- Familiar with European and American localized interaction standards, accessibility design criteria and compliance requirements for the overseas retail industry.
- UX design experience for terminal hardware and IoT devices.
- Able to start work promptly and support short-term on-site intensive project delivery during project phases.
