Primary Responsibilities
 

1. Pre-Contract & Tendering

  • Review ITT documents, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data

  • Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, and detailed cost estimates

  • Develop pricing, risk registers, and value-engineered proposals

  • Support bid reviews and internal approval processes

2. Procurement & Subcontract Management

  • Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate subcontract terms

  • Define scope, milestones, and payment structures clearly

  • Ensure compliance with contractual and insurance requirements

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and manage variations

3. Contract Administration

  • Interpret and administer contract conditions (PSSCOC / SIA / FIDIC)

  • Manage change orders, claims, and contractual correspondence

  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails

4. Progress Measurement & Payments

  • Establish measurement rules with clients/consultants

  • Prepare monthly valuations and payment applications

  • Review and certify subcontractor claims (incl. variations, retention)

5. Project Execution & Site Coordination

  • Oversee daily site activities for safety, quality, and timeline adherence

  • Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to maintain productivity

  • Identify and mitigate geotechnical and operational risks

6. Cost & Resource Optimisation

  • Monitor project costs against budget and forecast

  • Drive value engineering and efficient resource utilisation

  • Minimise material waste and improve cost efficiency

7. Governance, HSEQ & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements

  • Maintain progress reports, QA/QC records, and risk logs

  • Uphold HSEQ standards across all project activities

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5–6 years in Quantity Surveying within construction

    • Preferably from main contractor or specialist contractor (geotechnical exposure advantageous)

  • Technical Competence:

    • Strong in measurement, cost estimation, and tendering

    • Familiar with contract forms (PSSCOC, SIA, FIDIC)

    • Able to interpret drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data

  • Systems & Tools:

    • Proficient in MS Excel and cost control systems

  • Core Skills:

    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving

    • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management

    • Good communication across site and commercial teams
