Primary Responsibilities
 
  • Concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed design of mechanical process systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, including screening equipment, physical-chemical treatment plants, biological treatment plants, blower equipment, odour control plants, disinfection plants, and sludge treatment plants.
  • Concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed design of various pumping systems for water, wastewater, and sludge treatment plants.
  • Concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed design of ancillary systems, including chemical feed systems, mechanical ventilation systems, and drainage systems.
  • Preparation of general arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
  • Preparation of mechanical process equipment and pump specifications.
  • Mechanical equipment and pipe sizing and calculations.
  • Review and evaluation of vendor submissions.
  • Coordination with other disciplines, including civil, structural, electrical, building services, and instrumentation & control designers.
  • Lead meetings and discussions with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Provide engineering support for bids and proposals.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, testing, and commissioning.
  • Provide project cost estimates to clients.
  • Responsible for design management and project management of proposals and projects where the scope is primarily mechanical/process.

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) registered with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore is preferred.
  • Possess a university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidate shall have a minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in mechanical design of wastewater treatment systems (municipal and industrial).
  • Able to work independently in producing project deliverables to meet project timelines.
  • Lead and guide a team of engineers and carry out QA/QC work on their designs.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication with good interpersonal skills.
