Primary Responsibilities
|
| |
•Prepare piping material specification, including piping class, valve datasheets, piping specialty
datasheets.
•Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews Material Requisitions, reviews vendor quotations for technical
acceptability and completes Technical Bid Evaluations for all piping and valve material.
•Executes and verifies related calculations (piping wall thickness, branch reinforcement, specialty line
blanks, etc.).
•Development of component commodity codes for company and project specific databases based on
industry standards, manufacturer specific construction and company coding structure.
•Control piping material design quantity and top up quantity and ensure minimized surplus and shortage.
•Works closely with clients and other disciplines on resolution of piping material related issues.
•Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline tender estimates and work plan in accordance
with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
•Provides technical guidance and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers,
specialists & designers, in addition to mentoring them through provision of appropriate on-the-job training.

•Minimum 10+ years of experience in piping material related work.
•A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or
university
•Broad progressive work experience in design engineering in large industrial plants, utilities, process
plants, or engineering/construction firms.
•Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to
the discipline.
•Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within
the discipline.
