Primary Responsibilities
|
| |
• Take ownership for the preparation of Mechanical Handling Philosophy based on other Client philosophies & information from related disciplines & Vendors with Safety, Maintainability & Operability aspects.
• Report to Lead Layout Engineer regarding status of Mechanical Handling studies with Vendors information and any area of concern.
• Contact with other related discipline engineers & Vendors and exchange of technical information.
• Review of drawings, specifications, Plot Plans (2D) and 3D models.
• Take ownership of Mechanical Handling Study Reports.
• Assist Layout Engineer with regard to material/equipment handling, accessibility and maintainability requirements, including lay-down areas, bumper bars/guards requirements
• Responsible for the development of overall material/equipment handling philosophy for lifting operations for cranes, mono-rails, pulling lugs, etc) and equipment maintenance operations.
• Develop individual equipment maintenance procedures including the design and/or selection of local lifting facilities required to move components to the locations identified in the overall material/equipment handling philosophy such lay-down area, or workshop.
• Develop the maintenance access routes and maintenance lay-down areas.
• Develop the operations and maintenance requirements for the crane. This will include the number, specification, locations and lift capacities etc. required to undertake all lifts and load movements as identified in the overall material/equipment handling philosophy and procedures.
• Prepare and issue mechanical handling requirements and facilities equipment lists for input into equipment technical specifications for the requisition and procurement of the equipment. This is to ensure that package equipment skid specifications are consistent with the major module structural specifications, and will participate, as required, in the equipment technical bid evaluation process to ensure this compatibility
• Participate in the maintainability and accessibility 2D and 3D review in conjunction with input from Operations personnel. The review will allow supplier specified design requirements, including tube bundle pull-out areas, pig launcher/receiver access areas, component removal envelopes, filter element change-out areas, door swing areas, etc. to be included in the equipment modelling process.
• Preparation of material for Mechanical Handling meetings with the Client, other project groups or outside companies working on the project as required.
• Champion Mechanical Handling processes among the disciplines engineers.
• Interface with other discipline engineers to generate the Mechanical Handling deliverables.

- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design of material handling systems on Onshore and Offshore facility (FPSO)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in EPC company and at least involved and take ownership for overall Material Handling Engineering work for two (2) very large project/facility specifically within the oil and gas industry.
- Have proven experience working on FPSOs or similar offshore facilities.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office, etc ).
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong technical skills in mechanical and structural design, with experience in material handling system engineering.
- Knowledge of international offshore industry standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO).
