Primary Responsibilities
|
| |
Position Overview:
The Senior Piping Layout Engineer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and optimizing piping layouts and 3D models for FPU/FPSO, ensuring constructability, safety, operability, maintenance, accessibility and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role includes leading layout development, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, mentoring junior engineers/designers, and resolving complex layout and constructability issues across project phases. Coordination with different discipline for design interface.
• Develop overall module layout and detailed piping layouts using 3D/2D modeling tools (e.g., AVEVA E3D, PDMS, SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D).
• Define piping routing, equipment orientation, and space allocation.
• Prepare plot plans, equipment layouts, piping GA drawings, isometrics, and MTO inputs.
• Lead piping layout activities for assigned units or packages.
• Review and approve models, drawings, and deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to piping designers and junior engineers.
• Ensure layouts support safe construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance.
• Optimize routing to minimize pipe length, fittings, and interferences.
• Participate in constructability and model review sessions.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Safety disciplines.
• Resolve clashes and space conflicts.
• Incorporate vendor data and skid package interfaces.
• Apply international and project standards (ASME B31.3, B31.1, API, ISO, OSHA, NFPA, company specs).
• Ensure layouts meet safety, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
• Estimate layout man-hours and contribute to schedules.
• Support site queries, technical clarifications, and field changes.
