About the Company

Our client is a globally established engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) organisation renowned for delivering some of the world’s most complex and technically advanced projects. With a strong presence in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region, the company partners with leading global clients in high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and advanced industrial sectors.

As part of its continued growth, our client is seeking an accomplished Project Construction Director to lead the successful execution of large-scale, mission-critical projects.

About the Role

As the Project Construction Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the construction phase of major EPC projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and successful project delivery from mobilisation through commissioning.

You will oversee multidisciplinary construction teams, manage key stakeholder relationships, and drive project performance across safety, quality, schedule, budget, and operational excellence. Working closely with project leadership and client representatives, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class facilities while maintaining the highest industry standards.

This position is ideal for an experienced construction executive with a proven track record of leading large, technically complex projects within fast-paced environments.

About You

You are an accomplished construction leader who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership and commercial acumen. You have successfully led large multidisciplinary project teams, fostered high-performing site organisations, and delivered major construction projects within demanding schedules and quality expectations.

You are a decisive leader who excels at managing complex stakeholder relationships, mitigating project risks, and driving continuous improvement across every phase of construction execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all construction activities across major EPC projects.
  • Develop and execute construction strategies that align with project objectives, client expectations, and organisational goals.
  • Lead multidisciplinary construction teams, including Construction Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and quality requirements.
  • Oversee construction planning, resource allocation, productivity, logistics, and execution methodologies.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with workplace safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support commercial and contractual discussions, including variation management and claims resolution where required.
  • Mentor senior project personnel and contribute to the development of future construction leaders within the organisation.
  • Champion operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in construction management, with significant experience leading large-scale EPC or design-and-build projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex, high-value construction projects within sectors such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, industrial facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary construction teams across multiple project phases.
  • Strong knowledge of construction execution, project controls, contract administration, risk management, and commercial project delivery.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore construction regulations, workplace safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions in fast-paced, technically demanding project environments.
  • Prior experience working with international EPC contractors or multinational engineering organisations will be highly advantageous.
